My "Rock" Video
For my TechYES Science project I used a digital camera to take pictures of all the rock I had to memorize for my Earth Science class. I imported the 15 different pictures of rocks into iMovie to make a narrated movie about what each rocks classification and special characteristics.
I used different background music for the igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks while doing a voice over narration of their different characteristics.
The igneous rocks had a heavy metal rock band music. The sedimentary had soft classical music. The metamorphic rocks had weird techno like music.
I then exported my movie to a quicktime version and uploaded it to TeacherTube so my friends and family could see it. I also burned it to a DVD (using iDVD from iMovie) and showed it to my science class a week later. My "rock" video helped me and other students in my class remember the difference between the rocks.

Resources
American Geological Institute: Education
Through funding from the National Science Foundation and the corporate contributors of the AGI Foundation, AGI continues to produce innovative inquiry-based curriculum for K-12 earth science education.
Asteroid Impact Simulation
This simulation allows you to type in variables of an asteroid impact. How big the asteroid is, how fast it’s traveling, its impact angle, what kind of surface it hits and more. Then you can calculate the effects and find out the crater dimensions, thermal radiation and much more. Each is explained in detail.
